This week, we observed the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, and Dr. John Clayton continued his Lord's Supper series through the book of Exodus by preaching from Exodus 3:1-12. The hymns for this week were "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty," Psalm 115 (verses 1-5, 9-11), "Lord, with Glowing Heart I'd Praise Thee," and "At the Lamb's High Feast We Sing." The choir sang "God So Loved the World" for the offertory.
This week's service featured the sermon "Heirs According to Promise" from Galatians 3:15-29, part of Dr. John Clayton's sermon series Galatians: A Cross-Centered Gospel. The hymns for this week were "We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator," "The Church's One Foundation," Psalm 107 (verses 1-9), and "Blest Be the Tie That Binds." The choir's offertory this week was called "I Wish I Had a Thousand Tongues."
This week's service featured the sermon "Known by God," from Galatians 4:1-20, part of Dr. John Clayton's series, Galatians: A Cross-Centered Gospel. The hymns for this week were "Praise Him! Praise Him!," "God, All Nature Sings Thy Glory," Psalm 32 (verses 1-7, 10-11), and "Blessed Assurance." Also, the choir's offertory for the week was the hymn "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling."
This week's service featured the sermon "Born Again Free," from Dr. John Clayton's sermon series, Galatians: A Cross-Centered Gospel. We also observed the sacrament of baptism after the sermon. The hymns for this week were "Holy, Holy, Holy!," Psalm 92, "Before the Throne of God Above," "Children of the Heavenly Father," and "Wonder of Wonders, Here Revealed." The offertory this week was performed by the Covenant Pres handbell ensemble, as they performed an arrangement of the hymn "Be Still, My Soul."
This week's service was our Reformation Sunday service, this year observing the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. It featured the sermon "Called to Freedom," part of Dr. John Clayton's sermon series, Galatians: A Cross-Centered Gospel. The hymns for this week were Psalm 29, "The Church's One Foundation," "My Faith Has Found a Resting Place," and "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." Also, the choir was blessed to sing a song during the offertory that was composed by choir member Aaron Meacham, written especially for our choir and for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
