In this week's service, as we do the first Sunday of every month, we observed the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Dr. John Clayton also took a break from his current sermon series to continue his Lord's Supper Sunday sermon series through the book of Exodus with his sermon, "Victory Song," from Exodus 15:1-21. The hymns for this week were "We Gather Together," "Psalm 8," "My Faith Has Found a Resting Place," and "Amidst Us Our Beloved Stands." The service also featured a special offertory from the Covenant Handbell Ensemble.
This week's service featured Dr. John Clayton's sermon "Blessedly Broken," from Matthew 5:1-5, part of his sermon series though the Gospel of Matthew: Kingdom Come. This week, Dr. Clayton begins looking at the Sermon on the Mount, and what it truly means to be blessed when we are poor in spirit, mournful, and meek. The hymns for this week were "O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing," "O Lord, How Shall I Meet You," "Psalm 130," and "Rock of Ages."
